A team composed of 25 students collectively performed a feasible study of the California SR-60 segment within the City of Beaumont and County of Riverside to determine how well it would serve the community within the next 20 years. First, the existing conditions were researched, and future traffic was simulated. If the current configuration was found to be deficient, a preliminary evaluation would be performed to identify a number of possible alternatives, which would be analyzed based on geometric, traffic, and environmental factors using local, state, and federal design standards. Per their findings in this year-long study, the team would then recommend the ideal improvements for construction. |
